University of Houston at Clear Lake Application Requirements
The easiest way to be accepted is if the student ranks in the top 10 percent of their graduating class. These students are automatically accepted if they attended an accredited public or private high school in Texas. Students must submit their SAT or ACT scores. Applicants who fall below the 51 percent class ranking for these scores may apply for an individual review. The factors considered during the review process include employment history, special abilities, leadership activities, individual achievement, high school attended and community service activities. Freshman applicants must submit their high school transcript that shows they have completed four credits of English, math, science and social studies. Two credits of a foreign language, one credit of physical education and one credit of fine arts are required.
Students who earned a GED or were home-schooled must submit a personal essay stating their education and career goals and two letters of recommendation from a high school teacher or counselor regarding the student's academic ability and readiness for college. Online graduate degree applicants must submit electronic transcripts from every college attended. Some online programs may require official transcripts to be submitted to the department. Official GRE, MAT or GMAT scores must be submitted that meet required score levels. These test scores cannot be older than five years old.
